Dante Fabbro placed on waivers: Here's why the Maple Leafs make sense
Nashville Predators defenseman Dante Fabbro has officially been placed on waivers after a pretty horrid start to the season.
Despite giving the Predators some good seasons, this campaign has been anything but.
It has mostly been a struggle for him to get into any games. Moreover, in the games he has played, he has not logged any points. As a result, the team figured it would be best to put him on waivers and give him some sort of fresh start.

Fabbro may stay with the Predators system if he clears waivers. He would go down to the Milwaukee Admiral which isn't such a bad fate.
However, there are NHL teams out there who could use the defensive depth, especially at a cheap-ish price of $2.5 million per year. One of those teams is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
You may be yelling at us right now, as the Leafs still don't have the cap space. However, they could always make a trade that would give them some space for Fabbro.
He is a serviceable player that would be able to give the Leafs some good minutes. Not to mention, he needs a change of scenery, and Brad Treliving adores players who are in that kind of position.
Only time will tell where Fabbro ends up landing. All we know, is that he deserves better than to just fade into obscurity.
