Toronto Maple Leafs fans are calling for the firing of respected assistant coach
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the St. Louis Blues and lost by a score of 4-2 after yet another horrific night on the power play.
Maple Leafs assistant coach Marc Savard is in charge of the power play, and after 12 games, the Leafs rank last in the entire NHL. They are currently in a horrible spot, with some fans genuinely worried about the 7.8 percent success rate.
In the clip below, you can see a prime example of how and why this power play is not working. The set plays are all over the place. Furthermore, it just comes across like there is no rhyme or reason to anything that is happening on the ice. It is no wonder why fans would be upset.
In fact, over on X, some fans are calling for Savard to be completely fired. They do not like the job he is doing, and they firmly believe that the team would probably be better off with Savard being replaced.

"I never liked the hire in the first place. His track record was awful. This PP is so predictable. Let's get Bruce in there!!"
Fans probably won't be seeing a Marc Savard firing anytime soon. It does seem a bit early and heavy-handed for something like that to happen so soon. However, you never really know these days. If there is one thing for certain, it is that the Maple Leafs fans would like to see some kind of improvement.
