Jani Hakanpaa & Connor Dewar will likely demote these two Maple Leafs players
Jani Hakanpaa and Connor Dewar will be making their return to the Toronto Maple Leafs soon and fans are certainly happy about this new reality.
Overall, these two players started out the season on the long-term injured reserve. Having said that, they are both healthy right now. Furthermore, they recently went on a conditioning stint with the Toronto Marlies which was generally viewed as a huge success.
Soon, they will be brought back to the Maple Leafs, and there will certainly have to be some roster adjustments. Whatever the case may be, fans are very excited to have them both back in the fold.
According to Daniel Lucente of Hockey Latest, this could all come at the expense of none other than Pontus Holmberg and Simon Benoit. Why? Well, those are two players who haven't been fantastic this season and have struggled for playing time.
Hakanpaa and Dewar are seen as more effective players at these positions. However, the game of hockey can be very unpredictable when it comes to this sort of thing. Nothing is ever set in stone, even when you think it might be a done deal. Having said that, head coach Craig Berube does have some decisions to make.
Last night, the Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-0, which is a win that a lot of fans will be happy with. If this sets a winning streak in motion, then Dewar and Hakanpaa have an opportunity to shift the vibes even more positively.
