Jeff Marek announces his return to broadcasting
Former Sportsnet anchor Jeff Marek was suspended by the company unceremoniously a few months ago and hockey fans have been upset ever since.
Overall, Marek was beloved on the network and worked with other personalities like Elliotte Friedman. For the longest time, it felt like Marek would be with the company until he retired. However, he was let go abruptly and it led to allegations of feeding inside information to his alleged scout friend.
Sportsnet has never given an official reason for the firing. Meanwhile, Marek himself has not let on to what happened. Instead, he has posted about hockey here and there, while fans continue to beg him to make a return to the broadcast world.
Well, today, Marek took to Twitter with a 36-second video in which he announced his return to the broadcast space. Below, you can see that he included numerous screenshots from fans asking him to return.
Jeff Marek is back
He promised that he will be back very soon. However, the only thing that we didn't get was a timeline for his return. We also didn't get a true announcement of what his project or job is going to be. All we do know is that Marek has not given up on his career.
This is going to be a lot of fun, and we are just happy to see Marek back on his feet. Hopefully, we will get more details on what he's doing, very soon.
