Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz have been the best and most consistent goaltending duo in the entire NHL this season, and Maple Leafs fans are loving it.
However, it has led to quite a few questions about whether or not Craig Berube should name a bonafide starter.
Woll has won six-straight games and boasts an impressive record of 7-2. Overall, he has been the better goalie, with a GAA of 2.11 and a save percentage of .922.
Having said that, head coach Craig Berube has decided that it is better to continue splitting the games, at least for the time being.
Following yet another win against the Nashville Predators, Joseph Woll spoke about his goaltending duel with Anthony Stolarz and what the dynamic is like.
As he explains, there is no animosity between the two. Instead, they are very supportive and it has been nothing but a healthy experience.
Overall, the Maple Leafs goalie duel is a good thing and it should be celebrated.
Finding one good goalie is hard enough as it is, so finding two is really the sweet spot.
With the Maple Leafs on a huge roll, winning 10 of their last 12, Stolarz and Woll will continue to be huge focal points for the team.
Only time will tell who gets the start tonight as the team takes on the Washington Capitals.
