Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi had some interesting comments about Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner that eventually came true.

On Wednesday night, the Nashville Predators took on the Toronto Maple Leafs in a game that saw Mitch Marner register three assists while Auston Matthews had two goals.

Prior to the game, Roman Josi spoke about Marner and just how good the Toronto Maple Leafs superstar really is.

In his comments, he spoke at length about Marner's hockey IQ and how it makes him completely unpredictable.

"I think he's one of the smartest players in the league. When he has the puck, he sees things that other players don't see, and he always makes something out of nothing. You never quite know what he's going to do."

Of course, based on Marner's performance on Wednesday night, Josi was proven to be correct about his assumptions.

Mitch Marner proves Roman Josi correct

After Wednesday night's game, Josi got to speak to the media yet again, where he reiterated his praise for Marner, while also taking a shot at himself.

"Well at least my analysis is top notch."

The Mitch Marner praise is certainly deserved as the forward currently has a total of 36 points in the first 25 games of the NHL season.

Nine of these points have come from goals and another 27 have come from assists.

He is now also back on a line with Auston Matthews which is certainly going to help increase his totals.

Meanwhile, the Leafs have won 10 of their last 12 and boast a record of 16-7-2 which puts them first in the Atlantic Division standings.
