Jake McCabe has arguably been the best defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, however, his injury issues have left the team in a depleted state.
When McCabe first got injured a couple of months ago, he ended up missing more games than originally advertised.
A lot of fans were concerned about this and rightfully so given just how much of a lockdown guy he can be.
Unsurprisingly, fans were very worried when he got injured by Garnet Hathaway of the Philadelphia Flyers, as it was a re-aggravation of his concussion issues.
McCabe has missed two games in a row and he is set to miss a third as the Leafs take on the Vancouver Canucks tonight.
However, according to head coach Craig Berube, there is reason to believe that the defenseman could be back in the lineup reasonably soon.
Adding McCabe back to the lineup would automatically make this Leafs team a whole lot better.
At the same time, it is important to exercise patience with players who have gone through issues with concussions.
You never want to see a guy get another head injury, and the Leafs will have to be smart about re-inegrating McCabe to the lineup.
