Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson left tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers with a lower-body injury that will be evaluated tomorrow.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson has arguably been the best defenseman on the Maple Leafs this season with his 21 points and +15 net rating.

Unfortunately, fans are now concerned about him because of an injury sustained during tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers.

In the second period, it was revealed by David Alter that Ekman-Larsson was not on the bench.

This led to concerns about the defenseman that were ultimately confirmed by the team itself to start the third period.

Leafs PR revealed that Ekman-Larsson would not be able to return to the game due to a lower-body injury.

Of course, there are very few details on the injury right now so fans should refrain from jumping to any conclusions.

In fact, it doesn't seem like anyone can pinpoint the exact moment the defenseman was injured tonight. Regardless, this is not the kind of news you want to hear given the team's injury issues this season.

Tonight's game started out great for the Leafs as they were up by a score of 4-1 to start the third period.

However, with six minutes to go, the score is now 4-3 and things are getting a bit scary.

The Oilers are a team that can score goals at will, and Ekman-Larsson's absence has certainly negatively impacted the Leafs.

We wish Ekman-Larsson the best and we're sure Leafs fans are also wishing the same right about now.
