On Saturday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 5-2, and the night before, they lost to the Washington Capitals.
It is the Maple Leafs' first back-to-back losses since October, and many are wondering what's wrong with the team's offense.
Mostly, the offense is bad because of the bottom six that have struggled all season long.
Today at practice, Craig Berube tried to make some big time line changes to get the team on track.
For instance, the top line consisted of Max Pacioretty, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner.
Meanwhile, Matthew Knies was demoted to the second line, with John Tavares and William Nylander alongside him. Max Domi got reps with the second line which could be interesting as he is rumored to be set for a return on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils.
From there, Pontus Holmberg played with Fraser Minten. Alex Nylander and Nick Robertson got third-line reps and both players could find themselves scratched come game day.
The fourth and final line featured Steve Lorentz, Connor Dewar, and a mixture of Ryan Reaves and Nikita Grebenkin.
These lines are all quite interesting, and we cannot wait to see what Berube goes with tomorrow night.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to redeem themselves after these two bad losses.
