Mitch Marner has been the best player on the Maple Leafs this season with his blistering 70 points in 52 games.
However, he has given the team a bit of a scare as yesterday, he did not show up to practice due to "maintenance."
Today, fans and the media were waiting to see if Marner would be a participant at the team's morning skate prior to their game against the Calgary Flames.
According to Mark Masters, Mitch Marner was not at the morning skate today and for now, it seems like he is a game-time decision, according to Luke Fox.
Losing Marner tonight would be very unfortunate for the Leafs, especially when you consider just how much of a stud the forward is for this team's offense.
With Marner out of the lineup, Max Domi would be taking his place on the top line next to Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies.
This is a huge opportunity for Domi especially when you consider how he only has three goals in 44 games.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs are fresh off of a win against the Edmonton Oilers and they will try to ride that high as they go up against a formidable Calgary Flames squad.
The Leafs are on a four-game road trip prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off and the team wants that momentum going into the break.
They will also play the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks before the end of the upcoming weekend.
