Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is going to be a busy man at the Trade Deadline and fans cannot wait to see what big moves he makes.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the most fascinating teams to watch at the NHL trade deadline and it is because they are one of the current cup contenders in the league.

When you are a contender, you are expected to be a buyer, and that is exactly what fans are hoping for from Brad Treliving.

Toronto Maple Leafs trade deadline preview

In a recent piece for The Athletic, Jonas Siegel attempted to rank and break down all of the Maple Leafs assets that might be on the trading block right now.

Overall, it was a very in-depth piece and there were some fascinating tidbits here, especially when it comes to which pieces could prove to be untouchable.

Perhaps the biggest pieces in the article are Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten, who Siegel believes are viable trade options, but it would take a massive return to make happen.

Meanwhile, there are some guys on the Leafs like Max Domi and Conor Timmins who could be used as trade bait, but many teams simply would not want.

Tier 1: 'Don't even ask unless your serious':
- Easton cowan
- 2027 first round pick

Tier 2: 'We're listening but don't hold your breath':
- Fraser Minten
- 2026 first round pick

Tier 3: 'We're listening....':
- Ben Danford
- 2025 second round pick
- Artur Akhtyamov
- Dennis Hildeby
- Nikita Grebenkin

Tier 4: 'Yeah, we'd be open to that':
- Nick Robertson
- 2025 third round pick
- Pontus Holmberg

Tier 5: 'They can help you, I swear':
- Max Domi
- David Kampf
- Topi Niemela
- Marshall Rifai
- Conor Timmins

The Maple Leafs have made it crystal clear that their goal is to get themselves another center and perhaps even a defensive piece at the deadline.

This would help the team tremendously moving forward, and we're sure fans would love a third or second line center to put this team over the edge.

Some defensive help would also be great but with Morgan Rielly playing like himself again, that might not be necessary.

The trade deadline officially goes down on March 7th, which means fans will only have to wait a couple of more weeks for it.
