Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson has been getting on Craig Berube's bad side and things hit critical mass before tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nick Robertson has only managed two points in 23 games this season, and the Toronto Maple Leafs organization is starting to lose patience.

This past summer, Robertson was demanding a trade or an immediate contract, and the Maple Leafs granted him the latter in what was considered a last chance scenario.

Robertson has done very little with that last chance and it has led to a whole lot of frustration amongst fans, and even head coach Craig Berube.

Last night, during a loss to the Washington Capitals, Robertson was benched in the third period and played his least amount of ice time in a game all season.

Nick Robertson gets the boot

Tonight, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and again Nick Robertson has been punished.

With Max Pacioretty back in the lineup, Robertson has been made a healthy scratch.

Moreover, the Maple Leafs are also going to be putting in Alex Nylander, who has had a bad stretch of games but can now get a chance to redeem himself to the fullest.

As for Robertson, this could very well be the death knell for his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

There has been a strong sense that he will likely be traded if things do not improve, and with the situation becoming increasingly untenable, Brad Treliving might have no choice.

This week will be action-packed for the Leafs, and it will be interesting to see if Robertson finds his way back into the lineup.
