As you can see from the video down below, Nurse got caught with his head down, although that doesn't actually mean anything. You just cannot deliver hits like this.
Earlier today, it was revealed that Reaves was going to get a hearing with the Department of Player Safety. Of course, this means that the Maple Leafs enforcer will probably be suspended for a few games.
If one thing is for certain about this entire ordeal, it is that Reaves is actually quite apologetic about all of it.
Following last night's game, it was reported by Elliotte Friedman that Reaves went out of his way to go and say sorry to Nurse. He even went to the Edmonton Oilers locker room to do it.
Having said that, it currently remains to be seen whether or not the Reaves suspension will be a lengthy one.
Based on the type of hearing he is going to have, the maximum length of the suspension is five games, although we suspect that it won't actually be for that long given the nature of the hit.
Quite frankly we have seen much worse around the National Hockey League over the years. It would absolutely be overkill if Reaves got something over three games.
Only time will tell what the NHL and the Department of Player Safety.
