Ryan Reaves is not doing his job and the Maple Leafs may be left with no choice
Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves has not been great over the past year or so as he has been hit with numerous healthy scratches.
This season, he has been playing a lot thanks to injuries across the roster. However, he is not fulfilling his role as an enforcer.
The Maple Leafs enforcer isn't even fighting. That is the one reason why he was hired by the team in the first place. Without the fights, he does not serve much of a purpose. Sure, he is older and is still physical, but where are the fights?
On "Leafs Morning Take," Jay Rosehill offered a pretty reasonable take on Reaves recently. Essentially, he noted that Reaves is out here refusing to fight. It has made for a truly awful tenure with the Leafs that fans are upset about.
Ryan Reaves is not cutting it
At this stage, Reaves could end up losing his gig with the Leafs. If he doesn't start fighting, the team should think about waiving or trading him.
He was brought in to do a job, and he is not up to snuff right now. At a certain point, Brad Treliving and Craig Berube are just going to have to put their foot down.
