Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty suffered a leg injury tonight as the team is taking on the Montreal Canadiens.

At the time of writing this, the Toronto Maple Leafs are defeating the Canadiens by a score of 2-0. However, it has not been a great night for the team considering the injury to Pacioretty.

It all went down near the end of the first period when Pacioretty was cross-checked in the back. He immediately went down and then began to clutch at his leg.

Overall, it was a pretty bad play and fans were not so happy about it. This is especially true as Pacioretty was taken out of the game. According to Elliotte Friedman, Pacioretty did not come back into the game at the top second period.

Max Pacioretty goes down

"Pacioretty did not return for the start of the second period...hopefully not serious"

There is no telling what is wrong with Pacioretty right now. However, there we hope that he is going to be okay. You always hate to see a player go down like this.

Adding another layer to all of it is the fact that Patches used to be a player on the Montreal Canadiens. Either way, this is a rivalry game and the Leafs will be looking to close it out.

With a win, the Leafs will improve to 9-5-2 on the season. Moreover, it would be their third-win in a row.
