Overall, there has been a lot of debate surrounding who the starting goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs should be heading into the playoffs.
Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll have been lights out for the team and it has put head coach Craig Berube in a pretty awful spot, all things considered.
Over the next two days, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be playing the Pittsburgh Penguins and then the San Jose Sharks.
This has subsequently led to reports about which goalies will be starting against which teams. After all, Woll missed Friday's game against the New York Rangers due to an illness, so it put this back-to-back in question.
According to David Alter of The Hockey News, Woll is going to be the starter against the Penguins and Stolarz will be the starter against the Sharks.
The Penguins and the Sharks are two teams that are struggling quite a bit right now, however, that doesn't really mean anything as this is a back-to-back.
These are always tough to win and if the players are gassed, Woll and Stolarz should expect to face a ton of shots throughout the game.
That should not be a problem for these guys, however, as Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll have proven to be brick walls throughout the season.
Since coming back from the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Toronto Maple Leafs are on a four-game winning streak, which is definitely something to be proud of.
At the end of the day, the Maple Leafs are a great team and their goaltending tandem has been a huge part of that. It is great to see and fans will be hoping for one of these guys to stand out once and for all when the playoffs begin.
