Toronto Maple Leafs Could be Getting Their Forgotten Center Back Much Sooner Than Expected
The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt with a ton of injuries this season, however, one of their centers appears to be ready for a comeback in time for the playoffs.
Calle Jarnkrok is a player who has proven to be a solid bottom-six Center on all of the teams he has played for over the years.
Unfortunately, the forward has missed all of this season with a sports hernia and it has been unclear as to when he would be able to make his comeback.
Calle Jarnkrok practices with the Toronto Maple Leafs
Over the past few weeks, we have been blessed with some extremely positive updates in regard to Jarnkrok and his condition.
He has been hanging out with his teammates and has even been able to get some ice time.
Today at practice, Jarnkrok gave the Maple Leafs even more good news as he took to the ice in a grey practice sweater alongside John Tavares and Matthew Knies.
Although there is no exact timeline for Jarnkrok's return to action, it appears as though he could be back in time for the trade deadline.
This would be very good news for Brad Treliving who is currently being pressed to trade for a third-line center. With Jarnkrok on the roster, the team wouldn't need to push as hard for some help on the bottom six.
The Leafs have dealt with plenty of injuries this season but it does seem as though relief is coming very soon.
John Tavares, Matthew Knies, and Max Pacioretty are all very close to coming back to the lineup.
These are three players who occupy spots in the top six, so it only makes sense that the offense will improve.
As for Calle Jarnkrok, we hope to see him back soon as he is someone who injects a whole lot of energy into the lineup.
