Drew Doughty was a last-minute addition to Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off and so far he has been a solid player for the team's blue line.
In fact, Team Canada is playing for the championship against Team USA which is another example of Doughty being a solid defenseman for this squad.
The first time Canada played against the Americans, it was an all-out war with three fights in the first nine seconds of action.
This came as a surprise to a lot of people although when you consider current geopolitical tensions, it becomes clear that these teams should not like each other.
Matthew and Brady Tkachuk were among those who fought on the American side Saturday, while J.T. Miller also joined the mix.
For Canada, the fighters were Sam Bennett, Brandon Hagel, and defenseman Colton Parayko.
When asked if he would fight Matthew Tkachuk on Thursday, Drew Doughty had an incredible answer, stating that he would be more than happy to for his country.
Tkachuk has been an absolute rat throughout the 4 Nations Face-Off and Hagel certainly humbled him on Saturday.
However, Canada wants to look past the fights and focus on winning. After all, that is why they showed up to the tournament in the first place.
No matter what, this final game is going to be absolutely fascinating and we cannot wait to watch it all go down.
Hopefully, the finale is just as good as Saturday's tilt, albeit with a whole lot less fighting at the start of it.
