Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten has been working hard to get back into the NHL, however, Brad Treliving doesn't believe it is going to be that easy.

Fraser Minten was called up by the Leafs very early on in the season as the team had suffered numerous injuries.

In 11 games, Minten managed four points and was very impressive, although it was clear that some more time with the Toronto Marlies would do him some good.

With the Maple Leafs looking to add a Center before the playoffs, there have been some pundits suggesting that the team give Minten another chance.

General Manager Brad Treliving was asked about this possibility today, however, he immediately poured cold water on the idea.

"Is Fraser coming in ahead of somebody from the outside? I don't know. Because I don't know who that person is from the outside. So, those are all things that you balance all the time."

Based on his answer, it seems like Treliving is more committed to finding a Center in the trade market.

In fact, the general manager gave reporters a detailed explanation of the kind of Center he is envisioning for the Maple Leafs' third line.

"What you want and sometimes what's available are two different things, so we'll keep looking.»

Numerous names have been thrown around at this point, including Yanni Gourde and Brock Nelson.

Making a trade for a Center is not easy and there is no doubt that teams are going to charge the Leafs a premium.

If Treliving can navigate this, then Leafs fans will be forever in his debt.
