The United States has imposed tariffs on Canada and this has led to an all-out trade war that has Canadian fans feeling resentful of the Star-Spangled Banner.

America's president Donald Trump has imposed harsh tariffs on countries like Canada, Mexico, and even China.

In retaliation, Canada has imposed tariffs on the United States, and it has led to fears of a trade war that could have massive consequences on the economy.

Ottawa Senators fans get loud during Star-Spangled Banner

This political instability has led to some resentment among Canadian hockey fans, especially when it comes to sitting through the National Anthem.

On Saturday night, the Ottawa Senators took on the Minnesota Wild in Canada, and during the Star-Spangled Banner, boos rained down throughout the arena.

Meanwhile, during the Canadian anthem, there were loud cheers and a huge showing of unity and support.

These are very uncertain times and there is no telling what is going to happen next in all of this.

Although if one thing is for certain, it is that Canadian fans will continue to do this until there is some sort of resolution.

The Toronto Maple Leafs played the Edmonton Oilers last night, and with both teams being Canadian, there was no American anthem.

Either way, this is a truly fascinating moment in history and it is wild to think that Canadian hockey fans have played a part in it in some way shape or form.

Only time will tell whether or not this gets resolved quickly or if this will drag out for years to come.
