Easton Cowan had a truly abysmal World Juniors and some were worried that this would affect his confidence as he headed back to the London Knights of the OHL.
Prior to the World Juniors, Cowan had broken the points streak record which had originally been set by Doug Gilmour.
Since returning to the Knights, the Maple Leafs prospect has been able to increase his record to 60 games which is nothing short of sensational.
Today, the Knights played against Sudbury and won by a score of 8-1. In this game, Cowan was able to score two goals and an assist.
This season, Cowan has been able to amass 17 goals and 17 assists in 24 games which is pretty solid stuff.
Soon, he will be able to play for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL or if he impresses enough in training camp, maybe he gets a fast-track to the Maple Leafs roster.
Despite all of the issues he faced in the World Juniors, there is still hope that Cowan can be a future star with the franchise.
Thankfully, the team still has the core four to rely on, and Cowan isn't being pressured to be a savior of sorts.
Having said that, we are very much hoping for Cowan's success as he seems like a kid who is doing his best given the circumstances.
