Overall, the Maple Leafs have some shockingly good goaltending depth as Stolarz and Woll have emerged as the perfect tandem for the franchise.
As Kypreos explains, there are a lot of teams in the National Hockey League who could use a goaltender, and the Leafs certainly have them in abundance.
Even the Toronto Marlies have some solid goaltenders with Dennis Hildeby and others being given a solid chance.
With that being said, Kypreos believes that Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving would be motivated to trade either Stolarz or Woll, for the right price.
In fact, if the Maple Leafs continue to look like Stanley Cup contenders, then they might just sell one of their goalies for some offensive talent.
As Kypreos explained, it could happen imminently or right before the trade deadline in February.
Woll was injured to start the season and has taken on a back-up role. However, his stats are good with a record of 5-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .922 SV%.
Moreover, Stolarz has been no slouch as he has posted a record of 7-4-2 record with a 2.33 GAA and .921 SV%.
These statistics ultimately make Stolarz and Woll one of the best goaltending tandems in the NHL.
This begs the question: should the Leafs really make a trade?
The short answer is no. When it comes to goaltending, you can never have too much of a good thing. The team should just split the action and then choose the hot hand in the postseason.
Trading one of your goaltenders before the deadline could come back to haunt the team. If the Leafs want to add forward depth, they can do so in others ways.
