Ryan O'Reilly embarrassed by angry Maple Leafs fan on social media
Nashville Predators star Ryan O'Reilly was lit up on social media Wednesday night by an angry yet funny Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
Ryan O'Reilly left the Toronto Maple Leafs recently and decided to sign with the Nashville Predators which has turned out to be a pretty poor decision, all things considered.
The Maple Leafs have been much better to start the season, and last night, the Maple Leafs defeated the Predators by a score of 3-2.
Previously, TSN OverDrive asked O'Reilly if the spotlight in Toronto was why he left. Overall, his answer leaned towards yes, although there were various reasons for his departure.
Ryan O'Reilly is not popular in Toronto
During last night's game, O'Reilly did not play particularly well, and there were plenty of fans on social media who were absolutely ready to pounce on him for it.
Chief among them was @grinsabove on X, who absolutely destroyed Ryan O'Reilly with some pretty pointed comments.
For O'Reilly, this is not very much of a good look, although he does have a Stanley Cup, while the Leafs core four does not.
Regardless, there is no doubt that some fans have a negative view of O'Reilly with the Maple Leafs.
He was a massively polarizing figure and the fact that he ended up leaving the team has not helped matters very much.
Only time will tell whether or not he truly regrets leaving the franchise.
