Jake McCabe suffered an injury to his head and neck area on Saturday during the Maple Leafs' 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Overall, it was a scary scene in which McCabe had to go all the way back to the locker room immediately after the contact.
Despite Craig Berube claiming that Jake McCabe would not miss any time, he has actually been absent for two games since then. McCabe did not play Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Moreover, he was not on the ice for the team's win against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Today, Berube spoke to the media where he gave yet another worrisome update on McCabe ahead of the team's matchup against the Washington Capitals.
As Berube explains, McCabe is going to be out of the lineup yet again, although he did not explain the extent of the injury.
In the replies to the Mark Masters report, there were a whole lot of upset fans who seem to feel like they have been left in the dark on all off this.
There are some who are even taking aim at Berube himself, noting that he has been changing his tune on McCabe, every single day.
The one silver lining in all of this is the fact that McCabe did find himself back on the ice today. That is definitely a move in the right direction.
In McCabe's absence, the Maple Leafs have picked up two wins. Overall, the Leafs are on a nice run having won 10 of their last 12.
They are currently first in the Atlantic Division with a record of 16-7-2.
