Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll have been the best goaltending tandem in the league so far this season, and while Stolarz may be injured, the two have still combined for some impressive statistics.
As far as wins, goals-against average, and save percentage are concerned, Woll and Stolarz have been performing quite well.
However, there is one advanced stat that showcases whether or not your goalies are exceeding expectations.
This statistic is called goals saved above expected, and as of right now, the two Maple Leafs goalies are leading the league at +16.7.
What makes this so impressive is that the league-worst is the same number but with a minus sign in front of it.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs will be able to get this kind of goaltending for the rest of the season.
Stolarz will only be back as of 2025, while Woll is currently trying to hold down the net with a mix of Matt Murray and Dennis Hildeby.
Meanwhile, the Leafs are back in action this afternoon as they will be taking on the Winnipeg Jets in what will be a pretty difficult game.
It is not going to be an easy one, but the team can certainly trust Woll between the pipes.
