Brad Treliving delivers stunning statement about Matt Murray following Anthony Stolarz announcement
With Anthony Stolarz out of the lineup, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has just given a huge update on Matt Murray's status with the franchise.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Stolarz will have to miss the next four to six weeks as he is getting a procedure done on his knee to remove what appears to be a "pebble."

At this stage of the game, the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently using Joseph Woll as their starter, and Dennis Hildeby as the backup.
While Hildeby has amassed a record of 2-1 with the team, there are fears that he is just not experienced enough to be the team's backup for more than just a couple of weeks.
This has raised questions about Toronto Marlies goaltender Matt Murray, who is slowly but surely returning from an injury.
Brad Treliving was asked whether or not Murray could be an option going forward.
As he explained, the team has though about Matt Murray, and they aren't ruling out a scenario in which the Maple Leafs bring him up and send Hildeby back down to the AHL.
Dennis had a tremendous year last year and played well during his time up here. It's why we got Matt, too, right?
Now, [Murray] was dealing with a little bit of an injury, but touch wood, we anticipate that he is going to get in the net tomorrow in Wilkes-Barre. We'll go from there.''
Matt Murray has much more experience than Hildeby and therefore, he is much more trustworthy, especially if Woll gets injured himself.
Murray has played well this season with the Marlies, when he's healthy, and he certainly deserves a chance to prove himself at the NHL level again.
Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs actually make a change and bring Murray back into the fold.
