Last night was not a good game for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they lost 5-2 to the Las Vegas Golden Knights and were down 5-0 at one point in the game.
The team was especially bad in the first period and it led to Joseph Woll being chased from the net as he allowed three goals on the first seven shots of the game.
In the second period, the score was 5-0 and it was clear that the Maple Leafs were going to be putting this match in the loss column.
However, head coach Craig Berube was not going to just roll over and allow his team to get away with what can be described as a truly pathetic performance.
In new footage from the television broadcast, the head coach could be seen screaming at his players, calling them soft, and re-iterating the fact that they are hanging their goalie out to dry.
Berube was filled with emotion, which is good to see because for the most part, his players were extremely flat and uninspired for most of the match.
This is the second loss in a row for the Toronto Maple Leafs and it came just a couple of days before the trade deadline.
If one thing is clear, it is that this team could still be improved heading into the playoffs, which makes these next couple of days that much more difficult for general manager Brad Treliving.
The fanbase is expecting a move, and Craig Berube would probably enjoy just a bit more firepower on his roster.
Treliving has all of the pressure to perform and if he doesn't get it done, Maple Leafs fans may very well start protesting in the streets.
