Toronto Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan was recently asked about his future with the franchise, and his response will definitely raise some eyebrows.
Brendan Shanahan has been with the Toronto Maple Leafs for a few years now, and there is no doubt he has been instrumental in turning the franchise around.
For years, the Maple Leafs were a laughing stock of sorts, however, Brendan Shanahan went to work and got this Leafs team back on track.
While the team is always in the running for the postseason, they have yet to be able to propel themselves to the Stanley Cup Finals.
This has put a lot of pressure on this Maple Leafs squad, and fans are ready for the team to take the next step.

Recently, however, Brendan Shanahan was asked about his future with the Maple Leafs, and it led to a pretty non-committal answer.
While he is dedicated to this team, he has no interest in revealing whether or not he is going to sign a new deal.
It's different for management. The focus isn't on me; I'm not the story. I'm just going to continue to do the job. Every day I wake up, whether it's my first year or the final year of a contract, I'm always thinking about what I can do for the Maple Leafs. If the Leafs eventually win a cup with Shanahan at the helm, he will be regarded as a hero.
Only time will tell whether or not that ever happens. For now, Shanahan still very much has his work cut out for him.
