Toronto Maple Leafs reporter Steve Simmons came out with an interesting report today that involves former New York Rangers captain, Jacob Trouba.

Jacob Trouba is now a member of the Anaheim Ducks after the New Rangers traded him just a few days ago following weeks of drama and uncertainty.

Overall, Trouba had 15 teams on his no-trade list and all seven Canadian teams were on it.

The Columbus Blue Jackets were also on it which was unfortunate for the Rangers as the Blue Jackets had the perfect trade for them.

Either way, Trouba is now in Anaheim and there is no telling whether or not he is going to catch on.

There is a sense that the Ducks could end up flipping Trouba at the trade deadline to a buyer.

Jacob Trouba to Toronto?

According to Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun, the Toronto Maple Leafs front office is actually very interested in Jacob Trouba.

They see him as an asset who could realistically give this team some much-needed defensive depth.

Maple leafs management remains a fan of Jacob Trouba, the former Rangers captain who was recently traded.

They could consider pursuing him at the NHL trade deadline if a team like Anaheim or another party is willing to retain a significant portion of his salary.

Considering Trouba has already made it clear he doesn't want to play in Canada, it would be interesting to see this play out.

Of course, he could always change his tune, but you never really know if that is going to happen.

Whatever the case may be, it seems almost guaranteed that Trouba will be on the move again at some point in the next year.
