The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Detroit Red Wings tonight and in order to field the best lineup possible, the team has scratched a couple of forwards.

With the Maple Leafs taking on the Red Wings tonight, head coach Craig Berube has decided to send a message to his team by scratching an enforcer and a player who has underperformed.

Nick Robertson and Ryan Reaves are out

Of course, the two forwards that we are talking about here are none other than Nick Robertson and Ryan Reaves.

In the case of Robertson, he has just two goals and zero assists in the first 23 games of the season.

His performance with the Maple Leafs has not been good enough, and this will be his fourth straight healthy scratch.

Meanwhile, Ryan Reaves is the team's resident enforcer and all he has to show for it this season is one assist. Needless to say, not a lot of production.

The Maple Leafs had to increase their scratches today due to the fact that Bobby McMann is officially back in the lineup.

He has been injured for a few weeks so it makes sense that it would be time for him to come back into the fold.

As for Reaves and Robertson, one has to believe that one of these players will be traded soon.

However, if we had to guess, it might just be Robertson, who has yet to live up to the hype so far.
