Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has two new players on his team in Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton and he is very excited about their additions.

General Manager Brad Treliving was cooking on Friday as he was able to deliver two big-ish trades to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The first was Nikita Grebenkin and a 2027 first-round pick for Philadelphia Flyers third-line center Scott Laughton.

Secondly, he secured the services of 6'5" defenseman Brandon Carlo for Fraser Minten and a first-round pick in 2026.

When will Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton play their first game with the Leafs?

Both of these players are now rushing to Denver, Colorado as the Toronto Maple Leafs have a game tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.

This has put a bit of stress on head coach Craig Berube who now has to figure out how to integrate these guys into the lineup.

In fact, Berube was asked on Friday after practice whether or not Carlo and Laughton would be able to play against the Avalanche.

The head coach made it crystal clear that if these players can make it to the city on time, then they will "100 percent" be participants in tonight's game.

So there you have it folks, you're going to get to watch Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton in a Maple Leafs uniform tonight.

Although these players may not have the sexy name recognition of a Mikko Rantanen, they are the kind of guys you want in the post season.

Laughton has 11 goals and 27 points this season on a struggling Flyers team. Meanwhile, Carlo is more of a shutdown guy who is a right-handed shot and can absolutely check guys out of the building.

This run towards the postseason will be fascinating and we cannot wait to see how it all shapes out.
