Ex-Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke drops truth bomb about Nick Robertson

Nick Robertson has struggled with the Toronto Maple Leafs so far and there are many people out there who believe that he could benefit from a change of scenery.

Brad Treliving is someone who is currently being pressured to make a move. Having said that, Robertson presents him with the perfect opportunity to do just that.

While on "Leafs Morning Take" recently, former Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke got honest about Roberson. As you will hear below, he thinks that Robertson is a very good player. However, he also believes that it is time for Robertson to start fresh somewhere else.

Brian Burke gets honest about Nick Robertson

"I like the player. Everyone does but he's not what they need. The problem is, he is a square peg in a round hole for me. He's a good player, he's a good kid from everything I see and he's a guy that should be playing in the league, but it doesn't have to be for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

I think Brad Treliving has done a pretty good job. He's a smart guy, but I think it's time to maybe move on from Nick or move a player like Nick and give him more ice time, but the shuffling in and out and different lineups every night, gets old. Players don't like it."

Only time will tell if Treliving decides to move Roberston. No matter what, he does have a lot that needs to be considered right now.
