Overall, one could make the argument that Jake McCabe has been the best defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.
He has been a beacon of consistency and whenever he is in the lineup, the Leafs are just a much better team.
After taking a few practices off, McCabe was seen on the ice this morning, and according to David Alter, the defenseman even got some time on the ice by himself before practice even started.
Subsequently, the defenseman took some reps with his teammates, although he eventually left the ice once line rushes started.
Reporter Luke Fox reassured fans that the team is simply being cautious when it comes to McCabe and that there is nothing to worry about here.
McCabe has suffered two head-related injuries so far this season which has certainly sparked quite a bit of concern.
The Maple Leafs are taking on the Dallas Stars tomorrow night and it seems more likely than not that McCabe will be sitting out again.
Over the last two games, the team has not been great defensively, and the offense has not been particularly good either.
Morgan Rielly has struggled mightily this season and some fans are starting to get fed up.
Hopefully, McCabe is able to ramp up his ice time this week and eventually get back into the lineup by the weekend.
