John Tavares Comes to Easton Cowan's Defense Following Nightmarish World Juniors Campaign

Easton Cowan had a horrible performance for Team Canada at the World Juniors and he has been catching a lot of flack online.
This has led to questions about his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs, although former captain John Tavares does not seem worried about the young kid.
John Tavares has a message for Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan
While speaking to Nick Barden of The Hockey News, the Leafs forward was asked about Cowan's struggles.
Tavares gave a great answer, noting that he is a huge fan of Cowan and that he believes he will be a phenomenal player with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Easton Cowan is going to need all of the support he can get given the kind of flack he has been hit with over the last few days.
It is never easy for a young player to deal with this kind of stuff, but Cowan seems to be handling it well, at least for now.
Once he goes back to the London Knights, it will be a huge test of his character and whether or not he can break out of this slump.
As for John Tavares, he has been defying father time with some truly impressive performances as of late.
Tonight, Tavares will get to try and continue his hot streak as he and the Maple Leafs take on their divisional rival, the Boston Bruins.
