Maple Leafs Defenseman Chris Tanev Leaves Bruins Game After Being Crushed By John Beecher
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev is currently in the locker room being tended to following a massive hit from Boston Bruins player John Beecher.
Chris Tanev has proven to be one of the best additions to the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he has made their blue line a force to be reckoned with around the league.
Unfortunately, the defenseman was prematurely taken out of tonght's game against the Boston Bruins following a big hit from John Beecher in the first period.

As you can see in the clip down below, Beecher crushed Tanev along the boards, although it didn't seem like the kind of hit that would leave you injured.
Regardless, the defenseman was seen favoring one of his limbs, although it was unclear which one was truly hurting him.
This is easily the worst thing that could have happened to the Maple Leafs in this scenario, especially when you consider how the team is currently down 2-0 in the first period of the match.
Overall, this is very bad news if it is serious because the Leafs are already a team that struggles with their blue line depth.
It has been said over and over again that general manager Brad Treliving wants to go out and get another defenseman at the trade deadline, and Colton Parayko just so happens to be one of those guys.
Tanev has two goals, 17 points, and a plus 27 net rating this season and defenseman like that are extremely hard to come by.
The Leafs have guys in the minors they could call up like Dakota Mermis or Marshall Rifai, but that simply will not be enough to fill the void left by a player like Tanev.
Hopefully, his injury is not that serious and the Leafs are able to get him back before the end of the game, or at least by Friday against the New York Rangers.
