Saturday night is going to be a special one for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they celebrate Indigenous Heritage.
This is going to be highlighted by a game against the Vancouver Canucks who are experiencing a whole lot of inner turmoil right now.
To help celebrate this matchup, the Leafs enlisted Indigenous artist Jennifer Taback to make a new logo for the Leafs.
Given the warmup jersey bans of years past, it is actually a little bit unclear whether or not this logo will end up on a jersey this weekend.
However, there is no denying the fact that this is a beautiful logo with a lot of history and plenty of nods to Indigenous culture.
The Maple Leafs posted a video with Taback, who carefully explained every little detail of the logo.
It is going to be a meaningful night for so many people, including head coach Craig Berube who is known for being the first Indigenous head coach to win a Stanley Cup.
The Maple Leafs are currently on a roll as they have won five games in a row and if they win on Thursday, they would head into their match against Vancouver on a six-game high.
However, the team needs to stay steady more than ever as there is no denying that the playoff race and the Atlantic Division will heat up from here on out.
With a decent lead in the Atlantic, the Leafs may just secure their first division title in two decades.
