Legendary former NHL general manager predicts the future of the Toronto Maple Leafs
Former Nashville Predators general manager David Poile knows what it takes to turn a franchise around and get them knocking on the door of a Stanley Cup.
Recently, Poile was on "Leafs Morning Take" where he got to talk about, you guessed it, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was here where he spoke at length about the team and its efforts to become a Stanley Cup contender.
Interestingly enough, the team's new head coach, Craig Berube, was actually a player for Poile during his time with the Washington Capitals.
As a result, Poile knows exactly what Berube is about, and understands that he is the best coach for the job.
In his interview, Poile even predicted that the Leafs will go very far because they have someone like Berube there coaching the team.

Whether or not the Leafs are actually close to a cup, still remains to be seen.
At the end of the day, the Toronto Maple Leafs could be a lot better than they already are.
They have some depth issues that still need to be addressed, and Brad Treliving is very aware of it.
That said, a co-sign from David Poile should mean a lot to this Leafs team as they try to finally break their cup curse.
