Mitch Marner started the 4 Nations Face-Off on Team Canada's first line with the likes of Connor McDavid and Sam Reinhart.
However, things did not go well for Marner and the rest of the team against Team USA and it forced head coach Jon Cooper to make some difficult decisions.
One of those decisions involved taking Marner and Reinhart and demoting them to the second line.
They were given Nathan MacKinnon as a center, while Sidney Crosby and Mark Stone were promoted to the first line to play with McDavid.
Of course, Canada was still not able to get it going with these new lines, so there is no telling what head coach Jon Cooper is going to do on Monday against Team Finland.
If Canada wants to guarantee a spot in the 4 Nations Face-Off final against Team USA, they must beat the Finns in regulation.
Canada can win in overtime, but they would need Sweden to lose to the United States, and that means putting their fate in someone else's hands.
Finland surprised Sweden with an overtime win on Saturday and they are not going to roll over easily.
Although with Canada's firepower and depth, they should be able to overcome goaltender Kevin Lankinen and put on a show.
A rematch against the Americans would certainly be the perfect end to the first edition of this tournament.
