The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and one bottom six forward had such a good game that he is now off of the hot seat.

Pontus Holmberg is one of the forwards on the Toronto Maple Leafs who has struggled quite a bit this season.

Prior to last night's game, he only had two goals on the season and fans were starting to call for his head, demanding that he get some sort of trade.

However, Holmberg was able to have a phenomenal game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

The forward came away with two goals, which is one of the best games of his entire career. It was unexpected and in just one game, he doubled his goal total.

With this performance, Holmberg was able to show that he isn't a bust and that there are times when he can come through with an offensive breakthrough.

If you are the Leafs, you have a lot to think about as it pertains to your bottom six forwards.

General Manager Brad Treliving has been looking to make some sort of trade, and Holmberg has been mentioned in a lot of these trade talks.

However, with this latest performance, perhaps Treliving will hold off until further notice. If one thing is for certain, it is that this Leafs team needs some help from their bottom six.

Players like David Kampf and Alex Steeves also got goals last night which is good for the Leafs going forward.

With the playoffs coming up, any sort of production from the bottom six will go a long way. Hopefully, the Leafs are able to keep this up.
