Cale Makar is easily the best defenseman on Team Canada and if the team wants to win the 4 Nations Face-Off, they need him in the lineup.
Unfortunately, the superstar defenseman had to miss practice on Friday due to an illness and it put his status against Team USA in question.
This morning, some good news came out of Team Canada's morning skate as Makar was on the ice while emergency defenseman Thomas Harley remained sidelined.
However, after the morning skate, it was revealed that Makar is not out of the woods just yet.
Instead, he has been listed as a game-time decision by head coach Jon Cooper, who is preparing his team for their biggest challenge yet.
Makar is one of the best players in the entire NHL and fans want to see him on the ice against a strong American team.
If the defenseman doesn't play, the Team USA will have a massive advantage and that is not going to go over well.
Having said that, Makar did practice this morning and if you are a fan, this is something to hang onto as game time approaches.
This will be Canada's toughest test of the tournament so far and it could be a championship game preview.
Fans have been treated so some wonderful hockey and tonight might just be an instant classic.
