Toronto Maple Leafs Reveal Exactly What's Wrong with William Nylander
Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander did not play in overtime against the Boston Bruins last night and this has led to some panic among all of the devoted fans out there.
William Nylander has 33 goals this season which puts him first place on the Toronto Maple Leafs roster.
With Auston Matthews experiencing some struggles this season, the team has enjoyed this kind of productivity from the Swedish forward, however, he definitely gave the Leafs a scare last night.
William Nylander injury update
As we previously reported, Nylander did not play in overtime last night due to an injury he seemingly sustained in the third period.
This happened on the same night where Chris Tanev left the arena in a sling on his right arm.
Needless to say, there were plenty of reasons to be concerned as a Maple Leafs fan today, and that is especially true as both Tanev and Nylander were absent from the team's practice this afternoon.
However, it isn't all bad as Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube revealed that the injury to winger is "minor" and that there is a real possibility he plays on Friday against the New York Rangers.
It was also revealed that Max Pacioretty could be back on Friday, which is another reason for Maple Leafs fans to be thankful right about now.
Either way, this news about Nylander should quiet all of those who were freaking out this morning due to the prospect of the forward missing significant time.
After playing at the 4 Nations Face-Off, it seems pretty clear that guys like Nylander are just tired and their bodies have taken some punishment.
A few days off from practice should probably do the trick as this Maple Leafs team gets themselves prepared for a grueling postseason run.
