Toronto Maple Leafs superstar William Nylander was showered with boos at the 4 Nations Face-Off and we all know it is because of his associations with the Leaf.

William Nylander and Team Sweden played against Team Canada on Wednesday in the first game of the 4 Nations Face-Off.

As we know by now, Canada was able to win the game 4-3 in overtime thanks to a beautiful game-winner by Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner.

Prior to the game, all of the players were introduced and as you can imagine, everyone on Team Canada got a huge ovation.

Despite being in Montreal, even guys like Brad Marchand and Mitch Marner got some massive cheers.

As for William Nylander, his associations to the Toronto Maple Leafs earned him the biggest boos of anyone on Team Sweden.

Overall, the Bell Centre was jumping but Nylander stood his ground the whole time. In the video above, you can even see that he cracked a smile and was welcoming of the hate.

It was a slow start for Sweden as Team Canada took an early 2-0 lead. However, the yellow and blue were able to keep up and eventually had the game tied at the end.

As a result, Sweden now steals a point while Canada only comes away with two out of a possible three.

Team USA plays against Team Finland tonight and that could very well set the tone for the group stage moving forward.

Over the weekend, Team Sweden will look to bounce back against the Fins while Canada and the U.S. get to take part in what very well could be a teaser for the championship game.
