William Nylander did not play in overtime against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night as he was not feeling well enough.
The following day, the Maple Leafs forward was absent from practice and this led to all sorts of speculation about his health and whether or not he would have to miss a significant amount of time.
Head coach Craig Berube assured fans and the media that Nylander would be able to play on Friday against the New York Rangers, although many wanted to hear from the Swedish player directly.
On Friday, following morning skate, the winger spoke to the media and it was here where he confirmed that he is doing just fine and is fully healthy.
Simply put, you can expect Nylander to be in the lineup today on the second line next to John Tavares and Pontus Holmberg.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently on a three-game winning streak which just goes to show how much firepower this team has.
Even with Auston Matthews struggling these days, the Leafs are still out here putting teams on blast, and that win against the Boston Bruins was a statement.
They are now at the top of the Atlantic Division and a win against the New York Rangers would only make their lead stronger. However, the Florida Panthers are proving to be a tough team to gain on, especially with their Stanley Cup-winning pedigree.
Hopefully, William Nylander's return to the lineup yields some results and even some highlight-reel goals.
