Team USA lost to Sweden last night although it does not matter as the team will be playing for the 4 Nations Face-Off championship against their bitter rival, Canada.

Unfortunately for the Americans, they were missing a few players last night, including the likes of Charlie McAvoy, Auston Matthews, and Matthew Tkachuk.

For many of these players, their absence was simply a means of keeping them fresh for the final.

However, for McAvoy, the situation seems to be a bit more dire as according to Sportsnet, the Team USA defenseman was admitted to the hospital for an upper body injury.

Charlie McAvoy admitted to hospital at the 4 Nations Face-Off

This surprising news came amid reports that McAvoy was questionable for the 4 Nations Face-Off final.

Although fans knew he was injured, no one would have expected that his injury would land him in the hospital. Massachusetts General Hospital, to be exact.

With McAvoy going to the hospital, there are now real fears that he will not be ready to go on Thursday for the rematch against Canada.

Meanwhile, Matthew Tkachuk and Auston Matthews are expected to be ready to go for what should be an epic finale to this experimental tournament.

Brady Tkachuk got injured against Sweden on Monday night but according to head coach Mike Sullivan, he should also be ready to play.

A lot of players are getting banged up right now, and Canada knows this all too well as Shea Theodore got injured in the first game.

Either way, Canada and USA are set for what could be one of the best international games in the history of the entire sport.
