Jeremy Roenick is being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame which is certainly a huge deal for him and his legendary career.

Roenick got to play with a lot of teams during his time in the NHL. For instance, he played with franchises like the Chicago Blackhawks, the Philadelphia Flyers, and even the San Jose Sharks.

Overall, his time with these teams was a success. However, he always had options to go to other teams.

While speaking with Chris Johnston, Roenick actually dropped some very interesting information. In 2001, he considered going to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He also had the New York Rangers and the Calgary Flames on his list. However, he ended up going elsewhere.

Jeremy Roenick on the Leafs?

"There were a couple. In 2001 (free agency), I asked my agent to come to Toronto. And New York. And then I almost played for Calgary."

Back in 2001, the Maple Leafs had a pretty good team. They were consistently going to the playoffs but had fallen short quite a few times.

Had Roenick been on the roster, one could argue that the Leafs would have been a truly top-tier team. Although we will never know.

These are the kinds of what-if scenarios that fans love to pontificate on. However, sometimes, that isn't always extremely productive. You just have to live with what you have.
