Philippe Myers' future in Toronto just got a massive bombshell
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Philippe Myers was someone who was brought in to give the Leafs defense some much-needed depth.
Although he mostly played with the Syracuse Crunch last season while with the Tampa Bay Lightning, he was someone who stood out.
The Leafs were able to sign him for the low price of $775K per year. This is pretty low and it made Myers a pretty low-risk signing. So far, he has been impressive and it remains clear that the Leafs want to keep him around.
According to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, Myers is someone that the Leafs do not want to part ways with. Whether that be a trade or waivers, the Leafs are committed to keeping him.
Philippe Myers is loved in Toronto
This is great news for Myers, who has certainly earned this kind of co-sign from the team.
Whether or not he gets another contract in Toronto, is another question entirely. He will just need to keep up the great work, moving forward.
Tonight is a good opportunity to continue proving himself as the Maple Leafs are taking on the Montreal Canadiens in their second matchup against the rival this season.
