Stolarz got a second-straight start on Thursday night, however, it quickly turned sour as the goaltender was taken out of the game early due to an undisclosed injury.
This morning, the Maple Leafs fanbase is living in fear as they await exact word on the nature of Stolarz's injury.
Of course, there is a lot of hope that his exit from the game was simply precautionary and that he is going to be fine.
However, there are those who are also a bit perturbed by all of this, and wonder if his past groin problems are coming back to bite him.
We say that because according to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Maple Leafs have already called up Dennis Hildeby from the Toronto Marlies.
Hildeby is considered to be the next big thing for the Maple Leafs as far as goaltenders are concerned, although his statistics this season leave a bit to be desired.
He has posted a save percentage of .897 and a goals-against average of 2.73 while posting a record of 2-2-2.
None of these stats really jump off of the page at you, and if anything, this just reaffirms the notion that the Maple Leafs absolutely do need Stolarz as an option moving forward.
Goaltending is what helps you win games and sustain success in this league, and the Stolarz/Joseph Woll tandem has stood tall all season long.
If their goalie really is injured, then that could spell trouble for this Leafs squad, in the immediate future.
