Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau were tragically killed by a drunk driver in August and the new sent shockwaves throughout the entire NHL.
Since that time, every single team in the league has sought to honor the beloved brothers, and the Maple Leafs have been part of that.
During his time in Calgary, Brad Treliving developed a relationship the Gaudreau's uncle, Jim. The two became friends and they still share a rapport with one another to this day.
Overall, it is a truly beautiful thing and on Tuesday, Treliving invited Jim Gaudreau to morning skate so that he could be with the Toronto Maple Leafs ahead of their game against the Boston Bruins.
This is not unprecedented as the Philadelphia Flyers have had Guy Gaudreau, Johnny and Matthew's father, participate in numerous practices.
Guy Gaudreau also got to do some stuff with Team USA prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off, which just goes to show that the NHL community has rallied around the Gaudreau family.
It has been truly incredible to witness, and we hope that the family continues to get this kind of support during a very difficult time.
Meanwhile, looking ahead to tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are on a two-game winning streak and they are playing a Bruins team that has been completely decimated by some pretty bad injuries.
Anthony Stolarz will be getting the start tonight, while the Leafs will mostly keep their lines exactly the same as this weekend saw lots of success on offense.
