Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe came into tonight's game against the Boston Bruins without a goal this season and he's not the only defenseman struggling.

If you have been paying attention to the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, then you know that they have struggled to get any offense from their blue line.

Coming into tonight's game, Jake McCabe had yet to score this season, and quite frankly, he is not alone.

The Leafs did not get a single goal from one of their defensemen in the month of December, which is truly shocking stuff.

Jake McCabe just got the first Toronto Maple Leafs defensive goal in weeks

However, McCabe was able to break the curse tonight just four minutes into the game.

As you can see below, the defenseman got a beautiful feed and immediately put the puck top shelf blocker side on Jeremy Swayman.

Now, McCabe has 10 points this season, with nine coming from assists. He also has a positive rating of +7 which is pretty good as he is a career -9.

Hopefully, this goal is going to inspire more Maple Leafs defensemen to take more shots and perhaps get onto the scoresheet.

As for tonight's game, it is currently in the middle of the third period and the score is tied at 2.

The Maple Leafs were up 2-0 in the second period, however, the Boston Bruins were able to come back and get a couple of goals to tie up the game.

If the Leafs can finish this game off, it will make three wins in a row for Joseph Woll, who has been on a tear as of late.
