Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been a stud so far this season, however, last night against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, he found himself in trouble.

Overall, it was a good night for the Maple Leafs. They ended up winning by a score of 3-0.

This was their sixth win in the last seven games, and it was a match where the team was missing a ton of good players.

Guys like Auston Matthews, Max Domi, David Kampf, Max Pacioretty, and even Calle Jarnkrok were out of the lineup.

As a result, the team had called up the likes of Fraser Minten, Alex Steeves, and even Nikita Grebenkin to get them over the hump.

The team was certainly relying on a good game from Knies, however, he ended up taking a huge hit to the head from Zach Whitecloud.

Whitecloud left his feet to deliver the hit and it is clear that Knies was subjected to some serious head contact.

At the end of the day, these are the kinds of hits that the league is trying to get rid of.

Having said that, it should come as no surprise that Whitehead was immediately assessed a major penalty.

Following the hit, Knies was forced to back to the locker room for concussion protocol.

Of course, with all of the injuries to the Maple Leafs already, some are worried about what this could mean for the team, going forward.

Only time will tell whether or not Knies will have to miss any more time as a result of this hit.

As for the Leafs, they continue to be on a roll and currently have a record of 12-6-2.
